For a long time I had wanted to ride around the Isle of Wight by motorbike but had just not gotten around to it, that was until the 27th Oct 09.
On the 26th October 2009 I booked a ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight for both my brother and myself as well as out two motorcycles. For years I had wanted to ride around the Isle of Wight but I had simply not had a chance to get around to it, so when the weather was looking nice (around 19c) at the end of October 2009 it seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth at 10:15am we headed out just after 8am. We had booked a return crossing for 16:30 and planned to ride around the coast of the IoW returning then going through the middle and back to Yarmouth with stops on the way at Sandown Zoo as well as other photo spots. Sadly as it turned out we did not have time to do all of this and only got at far as Sanddown before we realised we were out of time (too many stops on the way perhaps). Ah well, it's a good excuse to go back and continue the rest of the route as ita a great place to ride your bike on a sunny day.
The images shown here tell part of the tale of the route we took with a lot taken at the Zoo where we could have easily spent more hours even though we ahve been there a lot of times over the last 10 years.
